Jeff Lefkowitz 2-Slat Ladder Back Chair made at SBWI

Wood Species
Ash
Joinery
Mortise and Tenon
Finish
Soap, Milk Paint

This chair was a milestone for me. It was the first ladder back chair I made, and it was the first seat that I wove. I also broke from the tradition of these chairs by cutting a void into the slats, which creates the effect of having 4 slats.

The soap finish keeps ash absolutely white, which blends well with the subtle tan of the danish cord seat. A soap finish is also easy to maintain and feels great to your hand: soft and silky.
